Tiova Rotacaps (Tiotropium Bromide)
Medicine OverView
This medicine contains Tiotropium Bromide 18 mcg. It is an anticholinergic bronchodilator used for long-term treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. It helps relax and widen the airways, making breathing easier and reducing symptoms such as wheezing, cough, chest tightness, and shortness of breath.
This medicine is supplied as Rotacaps and must be used only with a Rotahaler or similar inhalation device. The Rotacap should never be swallowed.
This medicine is not used for sudden breathing attacks.
This medicine blocks the action of acetylcholine on the muscles of the airways. This relaxes the airway muscles and keeps the air passages open for up to 24 hours, making breathing easier.
Usual Dose: One 18 mcg Rotacap inhaled once daily.
Missed Dose: Take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses together.
Overdose: Too much medicine may cause dry mouth, blurred vision, fast heartbeat, constipation, or difficulty passing urine. Seek medical help immediately.
