General Instructions
Take this medicine as instruct by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Do not take in more significant amounts than recommended/prescribed. Consult the doctor if you exposure to any undesirable side effects. Ensure that the treatment course is completed. Don’t stop the use of this medication without consulting your doctor.
When Not to Use?
Liver disease
This drug is not suggested for use in sick persons with active liver diseases since it may worsen the patient's condition.
Allergy
This medication is not suggested for use in patients with a known allergy(hypersensitivity)to atorvastatin, amlodipine, or any other calcium-channel blockers.
General warnings
Cognitive impairment
This drug may confusion, cause memory loss, etc. in some patients. These adverse effects are reversible and usually disappear once the tablet is out-of-date.
Altered blood sugar levels
Zivast AM tablet may cause an alteration in the blood sugar levels. This safety is notably higher in patients with diabetes mellitus. Close supervising of blood sugar levels may be necessary based on the medical condition. Suitable dose replacement with a suitable alternative should be done under your physician’s or pharmacist’s direction.
Muscle degradation and Rhabdomyolysis
This medication may cause muscle breakdown and rhabdomyolysis in some sick person, a condition which can be fatal. This may cause signs such as severe tiredness and weakness. This risk is mainly higher in the elderly population and in sick person with kidney diseases, hypothyroidism, and active muscle disorders. Report any unusual signs to the specialist or physician instantly. Change with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Heavy alcohol consumption
This tablet may cause liver and kidney injuries in patients consuming alcohol very frequently and in large quantities. Hence, Use of alcohol should be avoided during treatment with this drug.
Liver impairment
This medication may cause moderate to severe liver impairment in some patients. Close supervising of liver function is recommended during treatment with this medicine. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable substitute may be required based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Stroke
This drug is not recommended for use in patients recovering from a stroke since it may worsen the patient's condition.
Aortic stenosis
This medication should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from aortic stenosis due to the increased risk of very low blood pressure. Close monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Coronary artery diseases
This medicine should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from coronary artery diseases since it may worsen the patient's condition. Close monitoring of heart function and vital signs is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a satisfactory alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.
Pediatric use
This drug is not recommended for use in children since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established.
Driving and operating machines
This medication may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some patients. It is suggested that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you encounter any of these symptoms during treatment with this medicine.
Warnings for special population
Pregnancy
Zivast AM is not suggested for use in pregnant ladies unless necessary. All the safeties and benefits should be discussed with the physician or pharmacist before taking this drug.
Breastfeeding
This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding ladies unless required. All the risks and advantages should be discussed with the physician or pharmacist before taking this drug.
