Triclabend 500mg Tablet (Triclabendazole)
Medicine OverView
Triclabend Tablet contains Triclabendazole, an antiparasitic medicine specially used to treat infections caused by liver flukes and related parasites. It is most commonly prescribed for fascioliasis, an infection caused by the parasite Fasciola hepatica or Fasciola gigantica.
Triclabend Tablet belongs to the benzimidazole group of medicines and is different from many other deworming medicines because it is particularly effective against liver flukes.
Doctors may prescribe Triclabend Tablet when symptoms such as abdominal pain, fever, nausea, enlarged liver, or jaundice are caused by liver fluke infection.
Triclabend Tablet works by damaging the parasite’s outer surface and disrupting its internal structure. Once the parasite is damaged, it can no longer survive inside the body and is removed naturally.
Triclabend Tablet is especially effective against both young and adult liver flukes, which makes it more useful than many other antiparasitic medicines.
Usual Dose: The dose depends on body weight. A common adult dose is 10 mg per kg body weight taken once after food. In severe infections, the same dose may be repeated after 12 hours.
Missed Dose: If you forget a dose and another dose is required on the same day, take it as soon as possible. If too much time has passed, contact your doctor for advice.
Overdose: Taking too much Triclabend Tablet may cause severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, or weakness. Seek medical help immediately.
