Flagyl Gel (Metronidazole/Chlorhexidine/Lidocaine)
Medicine OverView
This medicine is a topical oral gel containing Metronidazole, Chlorhexidine, and Lidocaine. It is commonly used inside the mouth to help control bacterial infection, reduce inflammation, and relieve pain. Metronidazole helps fight infection-causing bacteria, Chlorhexidine acts as an antiseptic, and Lidocaine provides local numbing for quick relief.
This medicine works through three different ingredients. Metronidazole destroys harmful bacteria responsible for oral infection. Chlorhexidine prevents the growth of germs and helps keep the affected area clean. Lidocaine temporarily numbs the area to reduce pain, burning, and discomfort.
Usual Dose: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily or as directed by your doctor.
Missed Dose: Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed dose. Do not apply extra gel to make up for a missed dose.
Overdose: Applying too much may cause irritation, numbness, or burning in the mouth. If a large amount is swallowed accidentally, seek medical advice.
